What/who is Central Springs AgEd Boosters?
Central Springs AgEd Boosters is a local 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enriching the local communities of Manly, Nora Springs, Plymouth and Rock Falls plus surrounding areas by cultivating the next generation of agricultural leaders and innovators.
What is AgEd and FFA (the program you are wanting to start)?
Agricultural education prepares students for successful careers and a lifetime of informed choices in the global agriculture, food, fiber and natural resources industry. It’s delivered through three major components: 1. Classroom and Laboratory instruction, Supervised Agricultural Experience (work-based learning) and the National FFA student organization.
FFA is an intracurricular student organization for those interested in agricultural career pathways and leadership development. The letters “FFA” stand for Future Farmers of America and are part of the organization’s heritage. However today’s FFA is not just for students who want to go into production agriculture. It welcomes all who aspire to be teachers, mechanics, chemists, biologists, engineers, naturalists, entrepreneurs, doctors and more. It provides a path to achievement in the areas of premier leadership, personal growth and career success.
What is the funding going to be used for?
Funds raised by this capital campaign will be used to cover the first five years of supplemental salary (summer contract) for the instructor, CASE curriculum training and materials for the classroom, start up FFA chapter materials such as meeting paraphernalia and student jackets, plus funding for chapter activities including travel to National FFA Convention, State FFA Convention, contests and fairs.
When do the funds need to be raised by?
In order to facilitate classroom scheduling, instructor training and the FFA chapter charter our goal is to raise the first $100,000 by June 2022 with the remainder of total commitments in place by 2023.
Can I contribute over several years instead of all up front?
Yes! Many of our early donors have set up five year giving plans in order to commit at a higher-level and help the program and chapter sustain itself during the first five years of establishment.
If you wish to discuss options, feel free to reach out to CS AgEd Boosters Fundraising Directors: Laura Cunningham at 641 dot 425 dot 4473 or Jessica Lutz at 641 dot 420 dot 9219.
What if the funds aren’t raised in time or the program can’t get started?
All pledges and contributions will be made to the attention of Central Springs AgEd Boosters. Should the project not find success, donors will be contacted to coordinate a refund in full.
Is my contribution tax deductible? Can I get a receipt?
Yes! Central Springs AgEd Boosters is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please make sure your full contact information (e-mail address and cell phone number) is included with your donation. We will reply with a receipt for tax purposes.
